Your draft appears here
Answer a few questions and press Build my speech. A 1 to 2 minute draft is free and shown in full. You can edit every paragraph, shuffle any section and copy the result.
How the speech builder works
- Choose the speech. Best man, maid of honor, father or mother of the bride, groom, bride, wedding toast, graduation, valedictorian, commencement, retirement or rehearsal dinner.
- Tell it about the person. Names, how you know them, up to three stories and a few qualities. Pick a tone and a length.
- Edit and say it. The draft shows its word count and speaking time at about 130 words a minute. Click any paragraph to change it, shuffle a section for another wording, and copy the result.
Behind the builder are hand-written openings, introductions, story lead-ins, qualities paragraphs, wishes and toasts in four tones. Your details are placed into them with the right pronouns and endings. It is a way to get past the blank page, not a replacement for your voice.
Read examples first
If you would rather read a finished speech before writing yours, every guide below has full original examples, a structure to follow and tips for that occasion.
Free and paid
Nothing here needs an account. A 1 to 2 minute draft is free and shown in full. The Full Speech ($4.99, one-time) adds longer drafts in full, reshuffles, a print layout and reading cards; the Speech + Rewrite ($9.99) adds other tones, toast one-liners and a practice timer. See pricing.
Questions
Is the speech builder free?
Yes. A 1 to 2 minute draft is free, shown in full on screen, and you can edit and copy it. For longer drafts the free version shows the first part. The Full Speech ($4.99, one-time) adds the full text at any length, unlimited reshuffles, a print layout and reading cards.
How does the builder write the speech?
It does not guess. Every section is written by hand in advance, in four tones, and your names, stories, qualities and joke are placed into them. The result is a draft to edit, not a finished speech.
Will my speech sound like everyone else’s?
Only if you leave the story boxes empty. The more of your own detail you add, the more the draft sounds like you. Read it aloud once and change any line that does not sound like something you would say.
What do I get if I pay?
The Full Speech gives the full draft at every length, unlimited reshuffles, a print layout and numbered reading cards. The Speech + Rewrite adds three more versions in other tones, toast one-liners and a practice timer. Purchases are not open yet; you can leave your email at checkout and we will tell you once when they open.
Are my stories sent anywhere?
No. The draft is built in your browser. We record anonymous usage events, never what you type into the builder.
